Thanks for reading and responding Sophie. You are very right — ED is on the rise in men younger than 40, and men 50 to 59 are three times as likely to experience ED and have lower sexual desire than younger men, a topic I have written about before.

I didn’t include that in this article because the women did not mention it in their memoirs (wisely, I’m sure!) and so it’s hard to know if that was a driver of their newfound lust.

That said, our societal belief that men always want sex and are always ready for it hurt them and the people who love them, which I have also written about before.
