What "personal values" am I espousing here? I am reporting on a study (that I did not conduct), and using the study author's own words. I use the word "I" twice.

I have no grievance against man — raised two of them, married two of them, dated dozens of them and was raised by one I happen to have loved and miss.

Maybe your "personal values" are sneaking into your reading of this?
