Thanks for reading and responding. I am one of those boomers "rattling around in their big houses" (although mine is 1,600 square feet, so not big). But I can't move anywhere locally (and I want to stay locally, near my kids and community of 35+ years) as there is nothing —nothing!— around 900-square-feet, which would make me very happy.

Many boomers like me would like to go to smaller places, but that is not what's being built. And even condos are pricey. So I short-term rent a room in my house —how I survive—and am a LAT with my romantic partner. Having him live with me (and he rents a room in a house) would change the dynamic for both of us.

I wish there were more smaller housing options available for singles, seniors, LATs, etc., but that is not happening. That needs to change.
